Selecting the right programmes and projects for the organisation to take forward is the most difficult phase of any project approach to improving business.

There are so many opportunities and problems to address with an organisation's finite resources that careful project selection and prioritisation is imperative.

Once the 'Voices' present their ideas for programmes and projects with their rationale in 'Voice Statements' then the organisation will have to select the right portfolio of programmes and projects both within the current financial year and across financial years spanned by larger change initiatives.

Developing a sound, consistent investment criteria, clear sponsorship, and clear goals are all essential to selecting a successful programme portfolio.
